Overview

According to the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements, Organic agriculture is an integrated production management system that promotes and enhances agroecosystem health, including biodiversity, biological cycles and soil biological activity. Organic agriculture revitalizes soil, enhances crop yields and helps strengthens plants.

Our training is aligned to the (SAOSO) South African Organic Sector Organisation standards for production and processing and the (IFOAM) International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements.

  5. Conversion to organic agriculture
  6. Water and weed management in organic agriculture

  • Small holder farmers
  • Conventional farmers seeking to convert to organic farming

 

Duration

5 to 7 Days

 

Entry Requirements

  • Grade 9 literacy level
  • Ability to read and write in basic English

 

Training Material

  • Training manual
  • Organic seed pack
  • 25 kg bag of chicken manure
  • Each trainee will receive a certificate of understanding on the completion of the course
